Home & Design: A Classy Twist to the Beach Theme
I’ve always been enamored by words. As a middle schooler I loved to shuffle through the pages of a thesaurus or dictionary and find new words to add to my writing. Oftentimes, I’d misuse the words or try to cram them into a sentence that they had no business being in. Good story, Melissa…. but what does this have to do with decorating?
When I decided to do a beach theme for my guest room, I wanted it to be classy beach. What’s classy beach? I have no clue. I just knew that I didn’t want it to be your typical tacky run-of-the-mill beach décor found at your local Christmas Tree Shop or Wings souvenir shop. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good trip to The Christmas Tree Shop and live for cheesy tourist giftshops, but after downsizing to an apartment, I wanted a bit more sophistication added to my design choices. I have a much smaller space to decorate, which means every inch counts.
So what’s my interpretation of classy beach? Sea bird themed dictionary prints. You can find just about any theme printed on dictionary pages on Etsy. After I ordered the prints, I went to Amazon to purchase some cheap white 5 X 7 frames to complete the project. Unfortunately, I couldn’t order a strikingly handsome man with a good level and hammer off Amazon to help me hang the prints, so I did my best. I arranged them in a unique pattern and went with it. So if you’re looking to jazz up your space a bit, think outside the box and make the magic happen. Let me know what you think below!
Its heavenly and so you !
